OUR LEATHER

Here at Laeuer Studio, we are all about sustainability and quality. All our leathers are Italian sourced and Blue Angel-certified to prove the ecological quality of leathers, to help minimize environmental and health impact during the production phase.

Why choose Italian leather?

Italian leather is highly regarded for its exceptional quality due to a combination of factors. The use of high-quality hides sourced from Europe, chosen for their fine texture and strength, contributes to the foundation of premium Italian leather.

Our tanneries employ natural agents to create leather that is soft, supple, and exhibits rich colours. Italian leather manufacturers pride themselves on their commitment to excellence, ensuring every step of the production process is carefully executed with a focus on quality. Additionally, Italian leather is known for its durability and longevity, with expert tanning and finishing techniques that allow the leather to age gracefully over time.

What is so special about our Eco-labelled leathers?

Choosing eco-labelled leather offers numerous advantages for environmentally conscious consumers. Eco-labelled leather ensures that the production process adheres to strict environmental standards, reducing the use of harmful chemicals, minimizing water and energy consumption, and implementing effective waste management practices.

By opting for eco-labelled leather, you support sustainable raw material sourcing, promoting responsible animal treatment and biodiversity protection. Additionally, the production often incorporates measures to reduce its carbon footprint, such as utilizing renewable energy sources and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. Moreover, eco-labelling ensures transparency and traceability, allowing consumers to verify the origin and production process of the leather.

In conclusion, you actively contribute to a more sustainable and responsible leather industry, encouraging positive changes and promoting social and environmental well-being.

What is Pebble grain?

A Pebble grain leather refers to a type of leather that has a pebble like texture that is either embossed, naturally tumbled or shrunk. This texture does not affect the integrity of the leather, and often has a softer touch than smooth leather. As it has a textured surface, scratches, general wear and abrasions are less noticeable, making this type of leather one of the more popular finishes on bags, shoes and upholstery.

What is Nappa?

A Nappa grain leather refers to a type of leather with a smooth surface and a supple softness. Products made from Nappa leather often looks more beautiful and elegant because of its natural texture and vibrant colours. This type of leather is often used on bags, shoes and car interiors. Because of its smooth surface, Nappa is often more delicate and requires more care compared to a Pebble grain leather. Scratches, general wear and abrasions are more noticeable over time, but this does not affect the integrity of the leather.
