Laeuer Studio, pronounced 'Layer Studio', is an atelier based in Melbourne that was founded in 2021 by decade-long partners Clarence Tay and Jihye Lee. The duo both graduated from Bachelor of industrial Design and Masters of Teaching, together with a rich career history of shoemaking and luxury fashion.

We find great joy and fulfilment in designing and creating exquisite products out of beautiful Italian leather. So, we thought, "Why not start our own brand?" that's how this whole crazy adventure began, merging our passions, interests, and love into something truly one-of-a-kind.

How long does it take to design each product?
The journey of crafting every product starts with an initial sketch, where the creative process takes flight. Once the pattern is precisely prepared, the design is translated into a draft, serving as a blueprint for what's to come. Iteratively, a series of prototypes and samples are refined until achieving a state of perfection, all within a span of approximately two months for each unique design.

Upon reaching the pinnacle of refinement, the chosen design is brought to life using premium Italian leather and carefully selected hardware. This ensures that every piece departing from our studio is not only visually striking but also built to endure the test of time, becoming a cherished companion throughout your lifetime.

Emphasizing the significance of craftsmanship and attention to detail, we dedicate an average of 40 hours to handcraft each bag. This devotion ensures that every stitch, every seam, and every finishing touch aligns harmoniously, resulting in a remarkable creation that exudes excellence and embodies our unwavering commitment to quality.
